It does smell nice, and probably nothing like he's generally used to. Most of the time there's a faint whiff of the ocean and its saltwater on him, but he gathers it's because of his patronage. He's never used an ocean-scented cologne or anything in his life. ]
Uh. Sure — [ He starts, before huffing an apologetic laugh. ] Actually, I have no idea where I'm supposed to use it. Unless it's like a deodorant?
[ You live an active enough life and you definitely get to know what deodorant's like. But purposefully smelling good for someone else is kind of new for him. ]
( even isolated as she was, the world before her exile had that horrid trend. she turns to face him, still sat, and takes hold of the tin. it opens easily with a turn of the lid, presenting the solid gel-like product within. it's almost like a lip balm, with a less shiny consistency. )
—anyway, you want to get a little bit on your finger, like this. ( wanda uses her ring finger to rub on the surface of the product. ) And then you dab it behind your ears. You can just a rub a line under them.
( which she does, for him, pressing a line under one ear, then repeats the process for the other.

Here, too, and then on the inside of your wrists. It's pretty light, but you can smell it, right?
( wanda offers him the tin in return, should he want to make use of it for the other parts she pointed out. )

But he follows her direction anyway, dabbing it on his finger as instructed, to get the other places that she'd mentioned. This feels a lot more complicated and a lot more work than he's ever put in to smelling, but maybe that's just the way of it.
After his wrists are taken care of, he lifts one to sniff at his skin and nods. ]
Yeah, I can smell it. [ It's nice. It makes him feel like a whole other person.
And then a thought occurs to him. ] Do you think this stuff would mask me from monsters catching my scent?
end of the day, it turns out percy is a lot like those men she knows who prefer to get into fights, sweat a lot, and keep active. she is reminded so immensely of pietro, and it doesn't help that percy's features matches her brother's quite a bit. )

You should ask Matt. He has a more sensitive nose about these kinds of things.

Thinking of himself in terms of how other people would perceive him from a totally aesthetic (or olfactory) perspective just seems like a child of Aphrodite thing to do, and it's a good day when he isn't drooling in his sleep, and his hair isn't sticking up every which way.
He probably could spend at least another few minutes glancing at a mirror every now and then though. ]
Yeah, that's a totally normal conversation-starter to have. 'Hey Matt, can you sniff me? I just wanna know if this stuff I'm wearing is strong enough so I don't smell like monster food.'
